Students start learning Spanish or French from Preschool with a specialist teacher, expanding their language skills through a core focus on these additional languages.
Learners engage in fun performances such as International, Spanish and French Days and proudly compete in national language contests, growing their cultural appreciation and language skills.

At Brookfield School, students start language learning very early, building strong foundations.
Students begin learning French and Spanish in Preschool, engaging in lessons four days a week that build strong language skills and continue through to 8th grade.

Brookfield School brings the French language to life through creative skits, songs and performances that reflect their learning. French Day offers a chance to explore culture through expression, as students share their progress and passion for language with their peers and wider community.
Students come together to celebrate the many languages and cultures represented in their community. Through displays, storytelling and shared traditions, they explore what it means to be global citizens- curious, open-minded and proud of their own heritage and that of others.

By 5th grade, Brookfield students challenge themselves with a 9th-grade curriculum, accelerating their language skills and academic growth. Personalized language learning begins with an initial assessment and profile, ensuring each child thrives and many graduate with a B1 level of the CEFR, ready to excel in a multilingual world.
Through participating in Spanish and French Day, students showcase their language skills, performing entire plays in the language they are learning. This engaging experience allows them to demonstrate their proficiency and creativity, bringing their lessons to life on stage.
Brookfield School support parents in fostering their children’s language development by offering tips, resources and practical tools such as apps, songs and reading guides to help integrate Spanish or French into daily routines at home.
