In this brand new programme you will have the opportunity to watch your child grow their creative confidence as they dive into an enriching art framework exclusively designed by the ILOS team for students and teachers of ISP Artists. This framework will allow students to explore their creativity as they familiarise themselves with different techniques, mediums and themes. Additionally, students will participate in two live-streamed sessions facilitated by experts in the field who will support the students in developing their creative confidence.

ISP Changemakers, formerly known as ISP Futures, provides schools with tools and methodologies for developing projects focused on social impact. This will enable communities to take action to address strategic issues relevant to their group and their future.

Knowledge: Gain a better understanding of the different issues and opportunities that influence the well-being of the community.
Skills: Be able to apply different frameworks and methodologies to create projects with social impact. Raise awareness and take action on environmental issues among ISP staff, students, and school communities in general.

Confidence: Increase confidence in the impact that actions have on creating sustainable change in the school community.
Being a part of this program has helped me in things I didn't imagine it would. Because of ISP, I haven't just learned about the environment and how to be more eco-friendly, but I have also earned new friends (..) It even motivated me to come to school doing this everyday (...) I didn't imagine I would love plants and taking care of the environment like this.

ISP Chess Masters
Programme highlights
ISP Chess Masters grows students’ skills and teamwork by connecting them with other ISP students to play fast chess in online and in-person tournaments in local, regional and global contexts.

I love chess and having the opportunity to get better at it through tournaments is simply amazing. You can share ideas about moves and your style of playing at the same time as playing, you can play with people you don't know and all of that with no material needed, just a computer.

ISP Cultural Exchange
ISP Cultural Exchange encourages reciprocal exchange across regions where ISP schools are located. The aim is to offer students the opportunity to experience a culture different from their own through a homestay and attending another ISP school for a month.

ISP Scientists
ISP Scientists provides a unique opportunity for students to become citizen scientists and contribute to real-world STEM research projects like mapping the journey of missing plastic waste or tracking their habits to measure their environmental impact.

ISP Filmmakers
ISP Filmmakers is a multi-disciplinary project in which students learn the importance of collaboration in achieving the common goal of producing a film, its trailer and poster. It provides insights into career pathways in film and media.

This programme really improves your understanding of filmmaking, planning, scenes shots and will really help you on your application later on for university. It also teaches you to work together on camera shots and editing that for sure will be needed in the future.

Join Brookfield School's basketball program to gain skills in dribbling, passing, shooting and defense, building teamwork, and making key decisions on the court. Train under coach and basketball director Sam Luong of Skills Factory, who has over 20 years in basketball experience and works with the Sac State Hornets as well as Rico Hines, assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA.
Our program is divided into three different age-group divisions so your scholar can enjoy basketball with their peers! Little Dribblers (Pre 1st - 3rd grades) holds tournaments in the spring, while Junior Varsity (3rd - 5th grades) and Varsity (5th - 8th grades) compete in weekly practices in the fall and winter.

Art Classes
Students explore the fundamentals of visual expression in our Art classes, engaging with lines, shapes, colors, textures, and spatial concepts through hands-on, creative experiences. They experiment with a variety of techniques, including drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and printmaking. Each project is designed to build confidence, spark imagination, and develop a strong foundation in artistic skills and media.

Music - Beginning Strings & Music Ensemble
Develop musical skills in both individual and group settings, fostering creativity, teamwork and discipline through performance in our Music classes. Students also participate in annual performances such as the Winter Concert and Spring Musical, allowing them to present the culmination of their musical knowledge to the Brookfield community together with their peers.
Strengthen public speaking and critical thinking abilities, engaging in debates that cultivate confidence and persuasive communication.
Explore the world of science, technology, and engineering as a part of Brookfield School's STEM Team. Collaborate on hands-on projects and join competitions such as the FIRST Lego League Robotics, the SMUD Solar Boat, the international H2 Grand Prix PRO vehicle race, and many more!
Throughout the year, Brookfield School's yearbook staff designs and organizes the yearbook, capturing memories and learning the craft of storytelling through photography and layout.
DAR American History Essay Contest
Brookfield students in 5th through 8th grades have the opportunity to participate in the Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest, an academically prestigious contest where participants across the nation to earn awards and certificates based on their essay-writing skills.
This contest provides a platform for students to showcase their creativity as they dive deep in to American history and hone their critical thinking, historical research, and writing abilities. Brookfield has had the honor of having students place at chapter, district, and regional levels for their essays.
Every year, Brookfield School middle schoolers have the opportunity to participate in a number of national math contests to test their problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning, as well as encourage a love of mathematics and help students prepare for advanced math challenges in future grade levels.
Supported by our high level math program, scholars are able to challenge their mathematical skills and build confidence by studying for and participating in the AMC 8 Math Contest, the Sigma Math Contest, and the MathCounts Competition.
Every year, French students are able to demonstrate their knowledge of the French language and culture by participating in Le Grand Concours, or The National French Contest.
This competition challenges language learners in listening, reading and writing skills, helping them become more proficient and culturally aware in their language learning journey. Students scoring in the top percentiles of their level and division have the opportunity to win National Prizes of medals and certificates, rewarding the effort put into their French studies.
Compete in the National Spanish Contest to test your skills in Spanish grammar, vocabulary and cultural knowledge. It helps strengthen language proficiency and confidence in using Spanish.
At Brookfield School, students have the opportunity to compete in the national Scripps Spelling Bee. By allowing students to enhance spelling skills, expand their vocabulary, and gain confidence in a supportive environment, Brookfield has had the honor of having a student advance in the ranks and achieve the remarkable feat of representing us in the National Bee twice in 2019 and 2024.
Elected members from 4th-8th grades are voted in every year by their peers.
The Student Council nurtures leadership, responsibility and teamwork by allowing students to take an active role in organizing school events, representing peers and promoting initiatives. Members build communication, problem-solving and collaboration skills while fostering a sense of school pride and community. Activities include planning events, advocating for student interests, fundraising and developing leadership through team-building exercises.
Black History Month Celebration
Students connect with powerful stories and voices during our Black History Month celebration, exploring identity, history and community in meaningful and reflective ways. Through the rhythm of spoken word and the power of poetry, students learn the heritage and contributions of Black communities and gain insight about personal narratives of resilience and pride.
Interactive dance performances and vibrant musical expressions highlighted the diversity of Black artistic traditions, fostering appreciation for different forms of cultural storytelling. Students also had the opportunity to engage with Visual Art, both their own and that of local creators, which reflected themes of history, strength and celebration.
A communal meal featuring traditional cuisine brings the community together in a spirit of unity and shared learning. More than just a celebration, this event reinforces students’ understanding of global citizenship and honored the lasting impact of Black voices in history and society.
Brookfield students in 7th and 8th grade take on every role in bringing a Shakespeare play to life on our annual Shakespeare Day. Students perform a condensed version of one of his works, stepping into the roles of actors, directors, stage managers, costume designers and set builders.
The entire school joins in the celebration, dressing in Elizabethan Faire clothing and attending the performance together - a highlight of the year filled with creativity, collaboration and fun. When possible, our students also take a trip the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, where they experience professional theatre and deepen their appreciation for Shakespeare’s work together with their peers.
Brookfield students light up the stage in the annual Spring Musical, bringing stories to life through music, movement, and imagination. With voices full of emotion and energy, they sing in harmony and perform lively dance routines, each step reflecting their hard work and preparation leading up to the day of the musical.From confidently stepping into character to creating colorful sets and costumes, students take pride in every part of the production. The result is a joyful, collaborative performance that fills the auditorium with excitement and showcases their creativity, teamwork, and love of the arts.
Our students take the stage at the annual Winter Concert to share the musical progress they’ve made throughout the year. From the bright strum of ukuleles to the clear notes of recorders and melodicas, each performance reflects their growing confidence and skill.
Whether it’s a student playing for the first time or one who has found their rhythm over time, every child contributes to the joyful atmosphere. Together, they create a celebration of learning, expression and community, guided by the steady support of their music teacher and their own sense of pride and achievement.

Our extended care program runs from 7:30am to 6:00pm, offering a balanced afternoon of study hall, engaging activities, sports and free play. Students are grouped by age for safe, enjoyable experiences, with independent contractors leading additional activities.
