At our Elementary School in Sacramento, accelerated curricula teaches students at least one grade level ahead of State and National standards, emphasizing habits of inquiry, appreciation of differences, group work and personal responsibility, all nurtured throughout their learning journey.
Love of foreign languages
Students begin learning French or Spanish in our Transitional Kindergarten and continue to receive lessons four days a week with a specialist. Through engaging activities such as role-playing, storytelling, and cultural exploration, they develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Our approach encourages real-world application, helping students express themselves naturally and confidently.
Starting with hands-on activities, songs, games and storytelling, students build foundational vocabulary and pronunciation skills while developing an appreciation for different cultures. The focus is on fostering curiosity and confidence in using a new language in everyday situations. By the time they reach 5th grade, students are capable of performing 9th grade level work.
Mastering language, mastering expression
Students develop strong communication skills by mastering the rules of language. While focusing on building key language skills during English class, students improve comprehension. Through structured lessons and hands-on exercises, they learn sentence structure, punctuation and parts of speech, developing love for reading and creative writing.

Through book studies, creative projects and interactive discussions, they engage deeply with themes, characters and narratives, enhancing their appreciation for literature.

Children build problem-solving and logical thinking skills through an interactive and hands-on approach to mathematics. Students explore number concepts, geometry, algebra and real-world applications through engaging activities, games and collaborative projects.

Strength in motion, health in action
Students develop skills in movement, motor coordination and sportsmanship through a variety of outdoor games, tailored to their grade level and the season.
Our program, led by a specialist and held four times a week, provides a fun and active break from the classroom, encouraging cooperation and play. Sportsmanship is emphasized and the P.E. program runs Monday through Wednesday. Students also participate in weekly Health classes, where they learn about nutrition and healthy habits to support their overall well-being.
Understanding our world, shaping our future
Children explore history, geography and culture to better understand the world around them. Social studies covers topics, such as geography, California history, ancient civilizations, U.S. history, world history and current events, with a focus on hands-on research and exploration. This approach helps students build critical thinking skills and gain knowledge they can apply in real-world contexts.
Curiosity is the key to discovery
Students develop skills in observation, inquiry and problem-solving through topics, such as geology, physics, biology and chemistry. Each year, they engage in reflective learning, solve creative problems and examine different perspectives. With five field trips per grade, students experience the curriculum in dynamic and immersive ways.
Using hands-on activities, experiments and investigations, students learn about the natural world, from ecosystems to the solar system. This approach fosters curiosity and critical thinking, encouraging students to form hypotheses, make predictions and draw conclusions while building confidence in their scientific understanding.In 3rd grade students finally earn the opportunity to submit individual projects in the school-wide Science Fair.
Creating tomorrow’s innovators
Students begin learning the parts of a computer as early as Pre-1st, attending technology classes twice a week to build digital literacy and foundational tech skills. They then move into an introduction to coding and will also acquire knowledge of the Google Suite. They also learn typing skills, computational thinking and responsible technology use, preparing them for an ever-evolving digital world.
Crafting stories, shaping ideas
Students develop creativity and confidence in written expression. They gain skills in creative writing, storytelling, persuasive writing and research-based essays. Not only do students learn the mechanics of writing, but they also learn to write and read in cursive.
Through structured lessons, peer feedback and interactive activities, they build strong communication skills and a passion for writing.
Finding voice, growing with purpose
Students build confidence as communicators from an early age. Starting in Pre-1st, they memorize and recite monthly declamations in front of peers. In 1st Grade, project-based learning encourages them to present original work to the class. By 2nd Grade, students take full ownership by researching topics, writing speeches, and presenting to the group. This progression continues through 4th Grade, strengthening voice and classroom presence.
Harmonizing creativity and expression
Students in Grades Pre-1st through 4th grade develop skills in reading music, singing in choir and playing instruments - for example, the recorder or the drums.
Through engaging lessons in music theory and history, children build a strong foundation in music appreciation. Weekly music classes encourage self-expression and teamwork, allowing students to explore and enjoy the world of music in a fun and interactive way. Elementary students in the elective music class perform in the Winter Concert and Spring Musical, showcasing their talents and building confidence in the arts.
Seeing the world through a global lens
Students develop a global perspective by exploring diverse cultures, world history and international affairs. Through discussions, projects and real-world connections, they gain insights into global challenges and cultural appreciation, fostering open-mindedness and collaboration.
Starting in Pre-1st, students learn about the continents and oceans. In 1st grade, they study Asia, followed by Scandinavia and Canada in 2nd grade. By 3rd grade, they explore Latin America, and in 4th grade, they study the Mediterranean Basin, including Egypt, Italy, Greece, Malta and Morocco.
