Brookfield Brings Stories to Life During Celebrate Reading WeekFrom March 4–7, Brookfield School lit up with imagination and inspiration as students and teachers embraced Celebrate Reading Week—a joyful tradition that fosters a lifelong love for books.Classrooms buzzed with excitement as students from Pre-1st to Grade 2 enjoyed read-aloud sessions by special guests, including two remarkable authors. Dr. Jo, a Brookfield team member, read her new book Kingston and the Shark and generously offered signed copies to support the Launch A Star Foundation. Meanwhile, Omar Bala, a children’s author, read alongside his son, Khalil, the illustrator of their family’s books. Their engaging stories sparked curiosity and creativity across the grades. To continue the celebration at home, families were encouraged to host book clubs, create cozy reading nooks, and explore book-inspired crafts and storytelling nights. Students also discovered StoryJumper, a free tool for budding young authors to create their own books—shared by Dr. Jo to help bring students’ stories to life.Celebrate Reading Week not only connected students with literature but also empowered them to become storytellers, thinkers, and dreamers. The school community thanks all guest authors, teachers, and families for making this week a truly memorable chapter in Brookfield’s learning journey.
