Brookfield School where students grow confident through an accelerated curriculum

05-21-2025

How Brookfield School in Sacramento combines accelerated academics, multilingual learning and global opportunities to shape confident, compassionate leaders.

Tucked in the vibrant city of Sacramento, Brookfield School has spent over 60 years, since its founding in 1962, shaping curious, confident learners ready to lead in a changing world. At a glance, it’s an independent school offering accelerated programs for students ages 2 to 14. But for families who step inside, it becomes clear: Brookfield is more than just a school—it’s a community where potential is recognized early, nurtured daily and celebrated often.

Accelerated academics

Students at Brookfield are given the opportunity to go beyond grade-level expectations through a thoughtfully rigorous accelerated curriculum that challenges and excites. From early learners to middle schoolers, students are guided to think critically, ask meaningful questions, and take ownership of their learning journey. With small class sizes and personalized attention, teachers know every student well—and that familiarity lays the foundation for both academic success and personal growth.

Multilingual learning

The learning here is multilingual from the start. Students begin studying Spanish and French in Preschool, progressing through immersive instruction that helps them build fluency, cultural awareness and confidence. Many graduates place into advanced language classes in High School, a testament to the strength of the program.

But beyond vocabulary and grammar, Brookfield students learn to connect across cultures and express themselves in a global context.

The Brookfield experience is one of warmth, academic challenge and continuous discovery. Families choose this school not just for its proven academic results, but because they feel the difference the moment they walk through the doors—a sense of purpose, joy and care.

Leading with kindness and confidence

This dedication to holistic development doesn’t stop in the classroom. Brookfield’s character education program is deeply woven into everyday life. Students are encouraged to lead with kindness, act with integrity and embrace responsibility. Through class councils, leadership roles and peer collaboration, learners develop the social-emotional skills needed to navigate life with empathy and resilience.

Throughout our community, this is know as "The Brookfield Way."

Co-curricular activities that spark interest

Brookfield students learn, lead, create and compete with heart. From stepping onto the national stage in the Scripps Spelling Bee to solving complex challenges in MathCounts and the AMC 8, our students embrace every opportunity to stretch their thinking. They speak up in debate, build robots with the STEM Team. Bring their voices to life through music and student leadership and a vibrant mix of clubs and extra-curricular activities. These brilliant achievements create moments that spark confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Global learning opportunities

As part of the International Schools Partnership - ISP, Brookfield’s reach extends far beyond Sacramento. Students benefit from real-world global opportunities including international exchanges, virtual collaborations and student-led programs like ISP Model United Nations and buddy programs.

This connection to a global network of over 80 schools allows students to learn from and with peers around the world—broadening their perspective and deepening their understanding of global citizenship.

Learning at Brookfield is more than textbooks. Co-curricular activities, performing arts and STEM clubs and public speaking and other brilliant learning opportunities offer students the chance to explore their interests and discover new talents. Whether it's a young learner crafting their first clay sculpture or a middle school student leading a robotics project, these moments build confidence, creativity and leadership from the inside out.
