Spooky Story Winners!

Congratulations to 8th Graders, Kate, Salem, Lily, and Sammy for placing in the Brookfield Annual "Spooky Story" Contest! We emphasize developing advanced writing skills, and this assignment is very popular with our students as they compete to write the most bone-chilling original short stories!
Additionally, their classmate, Will, just won $100 prize for his original poem in a poetry competition. Brookfield kids can write!

Burgess Family Descendants Story

Chief Jonathan Burgess visited to share the story of his family legacy in Coloma. He spoke to our 8th grade Civics class, the 3rd grade who are currently studying California History, and the 1st grade classes.

Brookfield 7th Grader Wins Local and Regional DAR Essay Contest

Congratulations to Kate Hwang, whose essay took First Place in the Daughters of the American Revolution Essay Contest. She not only won the local chapter contest, but easily won for the entire region! Thanks to Kate's dedicated scholarship and the great instruction from her Brookfield teachers over the years, she is the 5th Brookfield student to take 1st Place in this contest! Kate impressed the audience with her reading of the winning essay at the DAR Sacramento Chapter Meeting that met virtually in February.
