Meet Sr. Gutierrez

Sr. Armando Gutierrez is a native Spanish speaker who moved to the U.S. from Michoacan, Mexico at the age of eight.  The challenge of learning English as his second language has strengthened his understanding of the challenges of learning a new language.  He is certified as a teacher of English as a second language and is using these strategies to teach Spanish to native English speakers.  He joined the Brookfield Faculty in 2023 as our early primary Spanish teacher.

In addition, Sr. Gutierrez enjoys a second career as a Soccer Coach and Referee.  He has organized and worked with children through adults in sports camps, recreational leagues, club teams, and school Soccer programs.  He continues to work as a top coach and referee for Sacramento United Soccer Club and the Inderkum High School Soccer Program.

Sr. Gutierrez enjoys playing Soccer (of course!), hiking, river rafting, cooking, and gardening.
