Congratulations to Elliot, Charlotte, and Emily! These three 8th graders were recognized at a special multi-congregational ceremony commemorating the holocaust at Mosaic Law Synagogue. The students submitted essays on the theme of the holocaust and were awarded certificates and cash prizes for their efforts. Additionally, the students' essays will be featured in an annual publication, Children's Voices. The students are pictured with Mr. Bernard Marks, contest sponsor and holocaust survivor. Mr. Mark's dedicated this program to his wife's memory, Eleanor Marks. Mrs. Marks was also a holocaust survivor.
Congratulations to our middle school students for a fantastic production! Each year, our middle school reads a Shakespeare play, then goes to work preparing a completely student run production performed for the school community and parents. Shakespeare Day is a great Brookfield tradition. Following the production, our 7th and 8th graders enjoy an extended field trip to Ashland, Oregon's Shakespeare Festival.
Congratulations to the eight students who entered the Regional Science Fair and did remarkably well. Out of approximately 360 middle school contestants, three of our students received awards! Pictured are our "outstanding eight" and the three award winners:
Kayla R., Grade 6: NorCal Toxicology Association, Special Award
Isabelle A., Grade 7, 4th Place, Behavioral and Social Sciences
Emily S., Grade 8, 3rd Place, Biological Sciences
