The Brookfield Racing Team entered their first RC car grand prix this Saturday. The teams overcame some first-race nerves and early-race chaos, with the Eagles (Captain Cooper; Kuba; Ishan and Sebastian) bringing their car home in 9th place, beating a few veteran high school teams, and the Bees (Captain Amelia Horgan; Mina; Ruairi; Laurel and Sydney Meeker) having to retire their car with just 10 minutes remaining - netting them an interview with the organizers for displaying grit and determination. The teams now have 6 weeks to re-build and re-design their cars before they enter the regional qualifiers in the Horizon Grand Prix World League.

Thank you to the many Brookfield families who contributed to the fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Together, we raised over $3,500! Students who raised $100 or more were entered in a drawing to trade places with the principal, Dr. Jo, for a school day.
