Determining Readiness for Preschool Groups and Pre-first (Accelerated Kindergarten)

Students in our Accelerated Preschool program are challenged academically, while having fun learning in an enriched environment.  As students demonstrate growth in the areas noted in the attached Progress Report, they are moved up to each level until they are ready for Transitional Kindergarten, the last class prior to transitioning into our accelerated K-8 school.  While the preschool provides excellent instruction and preparation for transition into the K-8 accelerated school, Brookfield Preschool children are not guaranteed placement; all applicants must test into the program.

Candidates for admission to Brookfield's Pre-first class (Brookfield's Accelerated Kindergarten) must demonstrate mastery of the skills and social growth areas outlined in the Preschool Progress Report (attached below) and test in the "Above Average" to "Superior" range on the Admissions Test.  The Admissions Test is a battery of three age-normed standardized tests that includes an aptitude test, picture vocabulary recognition test, and readiness skills assessment.  The student must also demonstrate social and emotional readiness, adequate focus, and the stamina to sustain a full day of school.
