Dr. Lisa Sahar joined Brookfield in 2020 as the 6th grade homeroom and STEM specialist.
She completed her student teaching and credential program while working at Pioneer Elementary School in Davis, where she worked with first, third, sixth, and fifth graders. Prior to obtaining her credential, she worked as a substitute teacher for over seven years in DJUSD in their the middle and elementary schools.
Dr. Sahar has a bachelor of science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She has an extensive background knowledge in the sciences as she also earned a doctoral degree in Chiropractic and is very knowledgeable with anatomy and physiology. Her education, work experience, and multi-level classroom experience have provided her with valuable skills needed to teach middle school science and other subjects in an accelerated school. In addition, she has experience in research, sales, computers, and health care. While she has worked in health care, Dr. Sahar feels that teaching is her true calling and enjoys working with kids and teenagers. She the mother of three children, a high school, middle school, and elementary level student.
She has a strong passion for science and curiosity that involves continual education. Her former students share that she teaches in a way that it is simple and easy to understand. She has also worked with RSP and Special Education students, and is able to adjust instruction to benefit each student's individual needs, accommodations, and modifications.
