Admissions

Students are accepted for admission at all grade levels, with the largest numbers entering Pre-First. Parents who are interested in a full-day kindergarten with academic instruction are asked to make application early for the limited places in our Pre-First program. The Pre-First grade is the academic equivalent of a first-grade class; therefore, the applicants are selected with care. Testing for this class begins in January and is usually completed by late February of the year the child will enter.

Students in other grade levels may enter Brookfield at any time during the year if an opening occurs in the class and the child is prepared to manage the academic challenges. During the evaluation process, achievement and maturity tests are given, and all applicants are asked to visit the School for an interview. The applicant may also choose to visit the class for which he or she is applying. Admission is based on results of a written application, previous school records and recommendations, tests administered at Brookfield, and the interview. Candidates are encouraged to apply early and acceptances are offered on a space available basis. Priority may be given to siblings in an effort to help keep families together.
